Description

Many Adventure parks are built on wooden poles. Wooden poles have a limited life span and be exposed to the weather and the external forces of a trail. The location and climate where the Adventure park is situated can influence on the decline of the pole and the inroads by nature.
Inspection of wooden poles is necessary to identify early damage and dry rot.

• Structure and properties of wood
• Natural durability of wood
• Wood preservation
• Types of wooden posts for Rope Course; including specification and types of posts
• Deterioration of the wood and decay
• Inspection methods
• Pile inspection reporting and recording
• Discard criteria for wooden posts
• Treatment, maintenance and repair or wooden posts

The course is recognised for candidates applying to become an 'ERCA-certified inspector' according to the 'ERCA Inspector training scheme'.
